Miss Melissa
4's Teacher
Teaching has always been my passion. I have always loved working with children. In high school, I worked in daycares and summer camps. I continued this work through college. I participated in clinicals as part of my education at Eureka College. It was wonderful to work with many different ages. I student taught at Davenport Elementary School in Mrs. Houch's third grade class and loved every minute of it.
In all these experiences I have learned a lot about kids and my love for working with them. My favorite part of teaching is watching kids learn and discover their world. The look in their eyes when they discover something new or work through the frustration and succeed is priceless.
I believe that every child can learn. I have a very hands-on philosophy. I believe that children can learn best whey they are interacting with what they are learning instead of being told about it, especially at the preschool level. Kids need to use their five senses to experience new things. I hope that this philosophy is very apparent in my classroom as I experience my first year of teaching.

Render service with enthusiasm...knowing that whatever good we do, we will receive the same again from the Lord. Ephesians 6: 7-8
