God has greatly blessed me with a passion to serve Him by loving and teaching His children. From that, He lead me to Taylor University for my freshman year of college, but quickly showed me through finances, closing of the special education program, and desires to be out of the Christian "bubble" that Taylor was not the place for me.

From there, I transferred to Illinois State University where I grew immensely through the challenges put before me. I have recently graduated from ISU with a degree in special education and could not ask for better preparation as a teacher. Through my college years, God gave me many opportunities to grow in my love for Him and children including working at Springhill Camps as a special needs counselor, volunteering with Special Olympics, mentoring with Partners in Reading, and working during the summers as a preschool teacher at Noah's Ark.

From these great opportunities, I have become aware of students' needs and my role as a teacher to challenge the students as well assist them in meeting those needs. I also have found that each student needs care and love, and it is my desire to show those important values to them by preparing them for their next step in life.

I believe that children are one of the greatest gifts from God and, that we can learn just as much, if not more, from them as they do from us. Sometimes I wonder if they are my teachers, not vise versa! I am excited about what I have to learn from them as well as what they have to learn from me in my continued experience here at Noah's Ark.

Render service with enthusiasm...knowing that whatever good we do, we will receive the same again from the Lord. Ephesians 6: 7-8
